Being a Responsible Dom/me

We’ve all either witnessed or experienced a scene with an incompetent Dom/me at the reins. Not only is it a travesty to watch; it’s dangerous when experienced first hand. As we walk through this life together, it is our responsibility to ensure we take care of one another; especially for those of us who Dom/me. This class will cover negotiations, ending a scene, and aftercare.

It’s never too late to learn something new; not only is this class a must for anyone new the lifestyle, Dom/me & sub/slave alike, but also an opportunity for experienced community members to refresh and learn some new tricks and techniques.

Rick loves authority! He is turned on by authority in erotic settings and enjoys role play scenarios that facilitate this.  Hazing, interrogation, and punishment scenes make the top of his list.  Rick has been involved in the Chicago leather scene for 15 years and is a member of Chicago Hellfire Club and active with International Mr. Leather weekend.   He has presented workshops around the country on the things he enjoys the most.

Leather History 101

A timeline approach to the establishment of the Leather, Fetish and Kink scene as we know it today.  Some questions and topics include “Why Leather?”, an examination of the early BDSM clubs, the role of contests in Leather culture, how AIDS impacted both the gay men’s and the larger scene and how kink culture used the earliest implementations of the Internet to communicate and community build.

Exhibitionism, if you care to see

While a very popular fetish, it can be difficult for exhibitionists to explore their desires in a way that is legal, safe and doesn’t violate consent of those around them.  The presentation will include ideas for exhibitionists and voyeurs, stories from the presenter about experiences that worked well, and not so well.  The discussion will also include suggestions for ways two or more exhibitionists can have fun together.

The Old Guard in Literature and Artifact

Who, what, when, why and where was the Old Guard .. questions that can’t seem to die despite their lack of unified response.  This presentation provides answers to these questions through readings from literature and examination of artifacts from the Leather Archives & Museum.   Readings include Bean, Rubin, Baldwin and Carney.  Artifacts include books, magazines, leather clothing, and photographs.

Scott Smith grew up in the Northwest and began exploring the facets of S&M at an early age. With his creative and rather deviant mind, he enthusiastically developed his techniques of bondage and suspension from his experience with nautical and high angle rope work. The powerful physical interactions that became the hallmark of his S&M activities were initially necessities for various activities including white water rafting, scuba, climbing, and paramedical rescue. Scott brings a distinct intensity and passion to the ebb and flow of learning, teaching and actualizing S&M. A believer that the magic of BDSM comes through the connection of the participants, his workshops develop and nurture that connection; while maintaining a decidedly sadistic edginess. Starting in the early 90’s, Scott has presented countless workshops and seminars throughout North America and abroad for organizations large and small.

Scott is internationally known for his rope work, connection, and edge play workshops. Having received a number of awards, Scott is incredibly honored to be a recipient of the Chicago Hellfire Club’s Caligula award.

He is also responsible for the introduction of his Blaise Wrap Suspension technique to the kink community, bringing a whole new dimension to suspension while providing a much safer alternative to rope suspension. Blaise Wrap: Cling Play/Polyvinyl Suspensions

What is Blaise Wrap? If you haven’t heard about Simon Blaise thanks to his revolutionary innovations in fire play, you’ve undoubtedly heard something about his unbelievable suspensions with cling film/Saran wrap/plastic wrap! Blaise Sticks: Taking Your Fire Play to the Next Level

What exactly are Blaise Sticks? Simon’s innovation in fire play, “Blaise Sticks,” are fast becoming an international phenomenon! Blaise Sticks are a particular type of fire torch crafted by the hand of Simon Blaise himself. Blaise Sticks have an inner super-absorbent core, an advanced and luxuriously soft wicking material and sturdy handles that allow for a safer fueling method and longer burn-times that keep you in the scene and refueling less (10 to 20 minutes depending on model and fuel content) — all of which takes fire play to the next level. After a brief safety and basic fire play technique discussion, Simon will discuss preliminary techniques to help students safely acquaint themselves with fire, its capabilities as a sensation tool, and inherent risks. Peter Fiske has been a Leatherman since 1964 and is now celebrating fifty years in leather and BDSM. Like all great gentlemen, he’s an original, and unlike so many great names of the past, he’s still with us, and active as ever. He is living proof that sweetness and sadism need not be mutually exclusive.

Peter has been collecting whips for several decades and currently has over 1000 in his collection. He is one of the most knowledgeable whip men in America, and is sought after for his skills at wielding whips. He has just published: “Book of Whips.”

He is a Stonewall veteran, an activist in the LGBT and leather communities, working tirelessly for inclusion and acceptance for all BDSM and leather. He is a past President and served on the board of the S.F. AIDS Emergency Fund (AEF), co-founder of the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, served on the S.F. Pride board.

Daddy Peter has been a mentor and BDSM educator/player all his adult life, presenting hundreds of programs all over the country. He is Chairman Emeritus of the 15 Association and former Chairman and Coordinator of Delta International. Whip Practice (Hands on)

Singletail whip expert Peter Fiske will provide his “whip workout” in which he will practice safe whip cracking, including basic whip throwing techniques and styles and simple target strokes. In addition, as time allows, Peter will work individually with each person so everyone will learn and practice together so that each person will learn something new in their particular throwing techniques whatever their individual skill level — from beginner to advanced.

Peter will bring whips from his own vast whip collection, which will be available for use in the workshop. Please bring your own favorite whip(s) for use in this informal relaxed workshop setting. If you have always wanted an opportunity to learn from the best and to receive individual instruction on how you might improved your whipping abilities, then this is a seminar you will most certainly want to include in your presentation agenda.

History and Discussion of Whips

In this one-of-a-kind seminar, whip master, Peter Fiske, will discuss the history of whips from the earliest known whips such as Egyptian flails and singletails to the scourges and flagellums from ancient Rome thru American and Asian whips and sjamboks and various African whips up to modern times. He will include discussions and examples of whips from around the world and their histories. As part of the class, Peter will illustrate the discussion by showing you actual whips from his unique collection of whips that extends back over 200 years and from all over the world. In this seminar he will give you an opportunity to look at whip history along with a chance to see and touch a variety of whips from Peter’s unique collection of whips.
